June has been a slow month reading wise. I told my child about The Magnus Archives and then they bullied me into listening to it as well. So we’ve been listening to it in the evenings after dinner or up in my sewing room if I was doing something that allowed me to listen at the same time.
Normal People by Sally Rooney. I have a friend who lives in Ireland and she told me about Normal People a while ago. Then suddenly it was everywhere and I decided to watch it. Loved it! The two main actors are so good and have such amazing chemistry. When I realised that it was based on a book I thought I’d give it a go as well. It turned out to be a quick read and I liked it. I have thoughts but I can’t express them …
The Bequest by Joanna Chambers is a short story about two of her most beloved characters Murdo and David. I read their series a few years ago and have come back to it a few times as it’s so well written. This is a much asked-for epilogue to send the characters off. Loved it.
Two Rogues Make a Right by Cat Sebastian. The third installment in the Sedgwick-series is a cute and lovely read about two soft idiots who figure out that they both love each other. It could have fallen into the trap of something angst ridden and Dark but veered away from that which was just what I needed. I loved the first book in this series but didn’t really care for the second. This third one was cute and Ms Sebastian really made me weep which rarely happens. I’m going to re-read the first one in this series at some point because it was so good.
