Books I Read in 2021 – September

Spirits by Jordan L. Hawk was a bundle of three books with pretty scary ghost stories as per usual when it comes to Hawk. Very enjoyable and the worldbuilding was really great. I think I may be caught up on everything Hawk has published now .. time for re-reads!

Paladin’s Grace by T. Kingfisher – yes eagle-eyed readers will realise this is the second time I re-read this book this year. It’s just so damn good, and there is a third in the series coming out in October! (Galen!)

Peter Cabot Gets Lost by Cat Sebastian is the sequel to a short story Sebastian published in an anthology last year that I read and loved (Duh, it’s Cat Sebastian). In this one, another member of the politician dynasty Cabot rebels against their family and goes on a road trip with a not-yet-friend. Lovely book. ”No plot, just good vibes” was the author’s copy for it. I agree.

Eleventh Hour by Elin Gregory, another re-read while I was waiting for pre-orders to drop. I read this one in 2019 and I still enjoyed it so much.

Swordheart by T. Kingfisher, again. Still great, and I still hold out hope that the author will write some sequels. I need to know what happened to Angharad and the Dervish! *puppyeyes*

Seducing the Sorcerer by Lee Welch was one of the pre-orders I was waiting for. It was quite different from the author’s previous book (Salt Magic, Skin Magic), it almost had a YA-feel to it but also not. I very much enjoyed it.
